Sophomore Jake Morrow returns to the Maverick basketball team after a successful freshman year. Morrow was the only freshman to play in every game last season and will receive significant playing time this year. Morrow's versatile play can put him at the two, three or four spot on the floor. Right now, Morrow looks to be playing the four spot for the start of the season. Morrow and fellow sophomore Mitch Gosson will switch off playing the four depending on how head coach Matt Margenthaler wants to play.

"We have two athletic guys that can play that four spot," Margenthaler said. "We can go big with Gosson or be more offensive with Morrow."

Morrow clearly earned his playing time early on last season by hustling and making the best of his opportunities while in the game. He can shoot, rebound and drive to the hoop which will be important for the success of the Mavericks this year. Morrow has endless energy when on the floor to give him an edge on offense and defense. Margenthaler said at the end of last season that Morrow could be one of the greatest to play at MSU. This season will be a springboard into the future if Morrow can perform at the level the coaching staff knows he can.

"Jake has had the best practices than anybody," Margenthaler said. "He wants to be in there and we will play him a lot."
