Nick Campa, a three-time District Coach of the Year (1998, 2000 and 2010) and three-time N
orth Central Conference Coach of the Year (1998, 2000 and 2001), led five MSU teams to North Central Conference titles - 1989, 1995, 1996, 1998 and 2001.
Campa, who began his coaching tenure at MSU in 1988, has sent 18 teams to NCAA Division II postseason competition.
Three Campa-led teams have claimed regional titles (2001-02, 2003-04 and 2004-05) and a total of nine of his teams have advanced to the NCAA national championship tournament. Two teams under his guidance have posted fifth-place NCAA national tournament finishes (1998 and 2000). Including a perfect fall season in 2001 in which his team won all six tournaments it entered, the Mavericks boast more than 70 tournament victories during Campa's tenure.
Campa was a captain for the Mankato Fire Department before retiring after 25 years of service.
Campa served as the Mankato West Senior High School assistant golf coach and was a junior high coach prior to his arrival at MSU in 1988.
