Mankato, Minn. — Minnesota State senior linebacker
Kevin Klug, has been named the D2football.com National Special Teams Player of the Week.
This marks the third time in school history that a Maverick has earned the award and the first time that a player has earned the award in the special team's category. Former MSU quarterback Ben King was named the Offensive Player of the Week twice during his career.
Klug, a native of Caledonia, Minn., blocked two punts and recorded two special teams tackles in Minnesota State's 59-14 victory over MSU Moorhead Saturday afternoon.
Fifth-ranked Minnesota State (8-0, 7-0 NSIC) hosts Southwest Minnesota State Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m., in its regular season home finale.
