Warrensburg, Mo. --- The 12th-ranked Minnesota State women’s bowling team opened the 2009-10 season Friday at the Greater Ozark Invitational hosted by Central Missouri State University Friday.
The Mavericks rolled four matches, playing to a 1-3 record. Seventh-ranked Arkansas State downed MSU, 999-922, in the opening match. MSU then suffered a 951-864 loss to #17 Elmhurst and a 964-849 loss to #2 Vanderbilt. Minnesota State ended the day with a 964-947 victory over fourth-ranked Central Missouri. The win marked the first head-to-head win for Minnesota State bowling coach Shane Drahota.
The three-day long event continues Saturday as the competition moves to Springfield, Mo.
