Bemidji, Minn. – Minnesota State senior James Krajsa led the way today during the 2009 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Championships held in Bemidji, Minn.
The Mavericks finished with 68 points giving them second place overall. There were 10 total teams that competed in today’s event. Augustana won the event with 36 total points followed by Minnesota State (68 points), Minnesota State – Moorhead (86), St. Cloud State (118), Minnesota – Duluth (125), Northern State (145), Mary (207), Wayne State (212), Winona State (243) and rounding out the field was Concordia St. Paul with 252 points.
The meet was held by Bemidji State University at the Greenwood Golf Club in Bemidji, Minn.
Winning the event was senior James Krajsa (Moorhead, Minn.) with a time of 25:33 that earned him First Team All-NSIC. Krajsa was one of three Mavericks to receive the All-NSIC award. Also receiving First Team All-NSIC was senior Jonathan Stoltman (Little Falls, Minn.) with a time of 26:11, placing him 6th overall. Junior Jeff Lombardo (Lakeville, Minn.) finished 12th with a time of 26:34, which was good enough to place him on the Second Team All-NSIC.
Also running for Minnesota State were freshman Jacob bastyr (Owatonna, Minn., 22nd, 27:06), sophomore Adam Noll (Alexandria, Minn., 27th, 27:17), sophomore Dan Kromer (Hudson, Wis., 30th, 27:24), and freshman Nick Emmans (Minnetonka, Minn., 35th, 27:35).
The Mavericks are in action again for the North Central Regional, located in Wayne, Neb. on November 7, 2009.
