Mavericks Finish Fourth in the NSIC Championships

Bemidji, Minn.  – Minnesota State women’s cross country team participated in the 2009 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Championships held in Bemidji, Minn. this afternoon.

 

The Mavericks finished with 141 points giving them fourth place overall. There were 11 total teams that competed in today’s event. Augustana won the event with 38 total points followed by Minnesota – Duluth (57), Mary (81), Minnesota State (141), Winona State (147), Wayne State (160), St. Cloud State (180), Northern State (191), Minnesota State – Moorhead (192), Bemidji State (328), and rounding out the field was Concordia St. Paul with 335 points.

 

The meet was held by Bemidji State University at the Greenwood Golf Club in Bemidji, Minn.

 

Sophomore Ali Paul (Cedar Grove, Wis.) was awarded First Team All-NSIC finishing third with a time of 22:33. Junior Jen Lang (Apple Valley, Minn.) finished 31st with a time of 24:02. Next to cross the finish line for the Mavericks were senior Meagan McConnell (Quinnesec, Mich.) with a time of 24:02 (33) and senior Amanda Dettman (Hutchinson, Minn.)  finishing in 24:09 (36). Rounding out the top five MSU runners was freshman Katherine Anundson (Minneota, Minn.) in 24:22 (38).

 

Also running for Minnesota State were junior Jenny Hoese (Watertown, Minn., 45th, 24:45) and freshman Kelsey Magnuson (Rosemount, Minn., 55th, 25:15).

 

The Mavericks are in action again for the North Central Regional, located in Wayne, Neb. on November 7, 2009.
