Nelson Named Honorable Mention All-American by The Sporting News

Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State senior center
Travis Nelson (Marion, Iowa) was listed as an
Honorable Mention Preseason All-American by the Sporting News.
Last season, Nelson averaged 13.9 points and 5.6 rebounds for the Mavericks, who finished the year with a 26-9 record.
As a squad, Minnesota State was one of 34 team listed as a "Possible Breakthrough" team.
The Mavericks open the 2009-10 campaign Nov. 15 against Monmouth (Ill.) at 3 p.m.
