St. Paul, Minn.—Fourth seed Minnesota State Mavericks will host fifth seed University of Mary in quarterfinal action of the 2009 NSIC Tournament.
The NSIC Soccer Tournament will begin on Wednesday, November 4 with the top four teams hosting the four lower seeds. The semifinals and championship rounds will then move to the highest remaining seed's home field. The semifinals will be played on Friday, November 6th at noon and 3:00 p.m. and the championship game will be played on Sunday, November 8th at 1:00 p.m. The winner of that match will earn an automatic bid to the 2009 NCAA DII Central Region Soccer Tournament.
MSU ended their regular season with 10 shut out matches, including the match against the University of Mary. Minnesota State hosted Mary on October 4th, defeating them, 2-0. MSU held Mary to six shots and two on goal in the match. While the Mavericks posted 16 shots with six on goal. MSU is 3-0 against the University of Mary.
Other tournament action, Winona State hosts Concordia-St. Paul Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Minnesota Duluth hosts Northern State Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. St. Cloud State will host Bemidji State Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
The Mavericks will host the University of Mary, Wednesday at 1:00 p.m., the match will be held at The Pitch at Gage Towers in Mankato, Minn.
