Mankato, Minn. — Minnesota State softball coach
Lori Meyer has announced the signing of Brittany Lauterbach to a national letter of intent to join the Maverick softball team in the fall of 2010.
All signings are contingent upon admission to MSU and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Clearinghouse.
Lauterbach – pitcher– has started at Prior Lake and is a four-year letter winner with the program. She has pitched for Prior Lake since her seventh grade season and was a letter winner in 2008 and 2009. Over the last two seasons she has compiled a 29-9 record with three saves. During that time she has tossed 18 shutouts and two no-hitters while racking up 273 innings of work, 396 strikeouts, 38 walks. She has a 0.59 earned run average over the last two years and has limited opponents to a .144 batting average.
"Brittany is a pitcher that has a tremendous upside as she throws a variety of pitches and mixes up her speeds well," said Meyer. "With her playing experience in travel ball with the Minnesota Irish over the last three years Brittany has had the opportunity to play and pitch against some very good hitters. When Brittany is on the mound she is a very focused and determined pitcher that has great enthusiasm for the game of softball. "
Minnesota State finished the 2009 season with a 39-17 record.
