Mavericks Go 4-0 in Final Day at 2009 Crusader Classic
Minnesota State Now Stands 21-15 for 2009-10
Valparaiso, Indiana — The Minnesota State women’s bowling team posted a 4-0 record Saturday and concluded the Crusader Classic with a 7,444 pin total in totalling the highest team pinfall for the two-day event.
MSU downed #16 Wisconsin-Whitewater in the today’s first match, 936-932, with Jackie Nolt’s 213 leading the way.
The Mavericks bested #17 Elmhurst, 973-812 in today’s second match with Ashley Clinchoc pacing MSU with a team-high 215.
MSU handed #20 Valparaiso a 939-891 loss in the third match with Clinchoc marking in each of the first nine frames, including a five-strike spree from the second through sixth frames in totalling 226 versus the host Crusaders
The Mavericks earned an 831-770 decision over Adrian in the final set-to and once again, Clinchoc, who averaged average 207.4 on the day, came up big with only one open frame (in the second), and strikes seven of her first nine frames.
Now 21-15 for 2009-10, MSU is off until Jan. 15-16 when it participates in the Mid-Winter Classic in Cabot, Arkansas.
