Robinson Tabbed First-Team All-District For Academic Success

Mankato, Minn. –  Minnesota State junior defensive lineman Michael Robinson has been named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V First-Team for his efforts in the classroom and on the football field.

Robinson, a native of Wausau, Wis., owns a 3.97 grade point average in Finance and has recorded 10 tackles this season including a sack and a half.  In MSU's win at Winona State (9/26) Robinson hauled in his first career interception.  He also had a pass break-up in the Mavericks' victory over Augustana (10/3).  Robinson is now eligible for the national ballot. 

Senior tight end Ryan Luedtke was also recognized for his academic and football success as he was named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V Second-Team.  Luedtke - a native of Fenton, Iowa - owns a 3.69 grade point average in mathematics and has appeared in all 10 games this season, starting nine.  For the season he has caught seven catches for 101 yards and in MSU's win over Bemidji State (9/5) Luedtke caught three passes for 53 yards with his final catch setting up the game-tying touchdown. 

Minnesota State (10-0, 9-0 NSIC) travels to St. Cloud State Saturday.  Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
