Wayne, Neb. – Minnesota State women’s cross country team participated in the NCAA Div. II Central Regional Championship held in Wayne, Neb. today.
The Mavericks finished in 11th place with 289 points out of 22 teams that participated in the 6,000 Meter event.
Sophomore Ali Paul (Cedar Grove, Wis.) led the way finishing in 6th place overall, qualifying her for Nationals. Paul finished with a time of 22:20.3. Finishing next for the Mavericks were senior Amanda Dettman (Hutchinson, Minn.) with a time of 23:40.8 (51) and senior Meagan McConnell (Quinnesec, Mich.) marking a time of 24:20.7 (71). Junior Jenny Hoese (Watertown, Minn.) finished with a time of 24:30.4 (77). Rounding out the top five for the mavericks was junior Jen Lang (Apple Valley, Minn.) in 24:41.6 (84).
Also running for Minnesota State were freshman Kelsey Magnuson (Rosemount, Minn., 90th, 24:51.0) and freshman Katherine Anundson (Minneota, Minn.) in 25:26.9 (107).
The NCAA Championships will be held in Evansville, Ind. on November 21, 2009. Sophomore Ali Paul will be competing in the event.
