Waco, Texas —  The Minnesota State football team fell from fourth to eighth in this week's American Football Coaches Association poll.

The poll suffered its biggest shake-up of the year this week after
several teams in the top-15 lost their season finales.

Minnesota State, which fell to St. Cloud State 26-21 last Saturday, join Minnesota Duluth (#4) as the only teams from the NSIC ranked in the poll.

The Mavericks (10-1, 9-1 NSIC) host #15 Hillsdale in the opening round of the 2009 Playoffs Saturday at Noon.
