Waco, Texas — The Minnesota State football team finished the season ranked #12 in the final edition of the 2009 American Football Coaches Association Top-25 poll.
Northwest Missouri State – which won the NCAA Division II National Championship last weekend – finished the year ranked #1 in the poll.
Minnesota State, which fell to Hillsdale, 27-24 in overtime in the first round of the NCAA playoffs, joins sixth-ranked Minnesota Duluth as the only two teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference ranked in the top-25.
The Mavericks finished the 2009 season with a 10-2 record, including a 9-1 mark in the NSIC.
