Patrick Lenton has been named
National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II Preseason All-America Honorable Mention.
Named
2009 Daktronics First Team All-Region and
2009 ABCA/Rawlings All-Central Region Second Team, Lenton fashioned a 9-2 record in 2009 with a 5.42 earned run average. He appeared in 14 games, starting 13 and working a team-high four complete games. Also named
All-Northern Sun First Team last year, Lenton led the Mavericks with 78.0 innings pitched and struck out 68 batters.
For his career, the Maple Grove, Minn., native owns a 14-3 record with a 4.34 earned run average and he’s struck out 142 batters in 128.2 innings pitched. Lenton was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 32nd round (970th overall) of the 2008 Major League Draft.
The Mavericks are scheduled to open the 2010 campaign Feb. 19 with a doubleheader at Colorado Christian.
