St. Cloud, Minn. — Minnesota State senior outfielder Jess Anderson (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and redshirt freshman pitcher Kendra Huettl (North Mankato, Minn.) have been named to the 2009 Daktronics All-Central Region Second-Team for their efforts on the softball field this past year.
Anderson led MSU in batting average (.401), on base percentage (.473) and sacrifice bunts (21). She was second on the team in hits with 59 and fourth on the team in slugging percentage (.483).
Huettl pitched to a 22-9 record on the season and owned a 2.45 earned run average. She led the team in virtually every pitching category including: innings pitched (208.1), strikeouts (156), appearances (35) and games started (31).
The Mavericks finished their season with a 39-17 record and made its third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division II tournament.
