Mavericks Roll to Fourth-Place Finish at Griffin Invitational
Sara Cahill averaged 192.6 and was named All-Tournament

St. Louis, Mo. — The tenth-rated Minnesota State women’s bowling team posted a 7-8 record in finishing fourth at the Griffin Invitational held in St. Louis, Mo., last weekend.
First-place Arkansas State went 12-3, Central Missouri went 11-4 and Elmhurst was 9-6. The fourth-place Mavericks were followed by Wisconsin-Whitewater (6-9) and host Fontbonne (0-9).
Now, 43-26 on the year, MSU was led individually by senior Sara Cahill (Tinley Park, Ill.), who averaged 192.6 to finish fourth in the individual stands in earning All-Tournament honors. Senior Cathleen Kowalski (Livonia, Mich.) averaged 187.8 and ranked seventh. Junior Lisa Hoover (Zion, Ill.) was ninth with a 184.6 mark Freshman Kelsey Dunkle (Lincoln, Neb.) averaged 168.7 pins in placing 20th, junior Ashley Clinchoc (Chesterfield, Mich.) averaged 160.6 and ranked 25th and senior Kara Bischoff (St. Cloud, Minn.) was 28th with a 157.0 average.
Next action for MSU is Feb. 28-March 1 when the Mavericks participate in the Holiday Classic in Bessemer, Ala.
