Mavericks Place 20th at NCAA Regional
Welch Finishes 84th as Minnesota State's Top Individual
Lincoln, Neb. — The 2009 spring season came to an end for the Minnesota State men's golf team when the Mavericks completed play at the NCAA Division II Central/West Region in Lincoln, Neb., this afternoon.
The Mavericks completed the three-day tournament with a team total of 960 to finish 20th. The University of Colorado-Colorado Springs took top honors with total of 863.
Sophomore
Kyle Welch, who carded rounds of 78, 84 and 74, totalled 236 to place 84th. Junior
Bryant Black's 239 on rounds of 81, 81 and 77 tied for 92nd and sophomore
Kyle Bahe (80-84-80=244) tied for 100th. Junior J
immy Fromm, who sat out yesterday with the flu, shot 77 today and totalled 160 in two rounds at the meet and senior
Jon Herzog, who had back issues today, carded 85 and 81 for a total of 166.
