Sioux Falls, S.D. --- The Minnesota State women’s golf team finished fourth in the NCAA Division II Super Regional 3 and advanced two women to the NCAA Division II Championships in Findlay, Ohio. The Mavericks three-day total was 329-322-321 – 972.
Leading the way for the Mavericks was sophomore
Leah Grozdanich who shot a 78-80-79 – 237, which tied her for fifth place and advanced her to the Championships. Along with Grozdanich, junior
Jaymie Halvorson also advanced to the Championships. Halvorson broke the top ten by carding an 83-77-79 – 239(10) over the three day event. Freshman
Samantha Bergmann recorded an 82-82-81 – 245(16). Rounding out the Minnesota State scorers are freshman
Lisa Moline, 87-83-82 – 252 and junior
Kassie Ellsworth, 86-88-85 – 259(t-35).
Leah Grozdanich and Jaymie Halvorson will compete in the NCAA Division II Championships in Findlay, Ohio which will be held May 13-16, 2009.
