Maverick's Fall To Western New Mexico In Opening Round of NCAA Tournament

Sartell, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men’s tennis team suffered a 5-0 loss to Western New Mexico Friday morning in the opening round of the 2009 NCAA Division II Tennis Tournament held at the Sartell High School Tennis Courts.
The Mustangs opened the match with three wins in doubles play. MSU junior John Julian and freshman Chris Webber suffered an 8-3 loss at the #1 doubles flight while freshman Marco Vazquez and sophomore Adam Doll fell 8-2 at the #2 flight. Freshmen Dan Zastrow and Chad Berger fell 8-2 at the #3 flight.
In singles play, Doll fell to Timoci Fa, 6-1, 6-2 at the #4 flight while Zastrow fell to Salazar, 6-1, 6-0 at the #5 flight.
Minnesota State’s season ends with a 6-11 record.
