Cedar Falls, IowaMinnesota State rode a pair of wins into the semifinal round of the 2010 NWCA/Cliff Keen National Duals, held at the UNI-Dome and hosted by the University of Northern Iowa.  The twelfth-ranked Mavericks were not seeded in the 16-team tournament but upended fifth-seed Western State 23-16 in the first round and followed with a 27-11 win over West Liberty State, upset winners over #4 Central Oklahoma in round one.

Minnesota State fell behind Western 12-3 after four matches to open action but the rattled off four straight wins to pull ahead.  The comeback was highlighted by a technical fall win from sophomore Tel Todd (Bozeman, Mont.) and a fall from sophomore Aaron Norgren (Mapleton, Minn.) at 165 and 184 pounds respectively.  Senior All-American Brady Wilson (Faribault, Minn.) justified his #1 national ranking with a 4-3 win over Western's second-ranked Charlie Alexander to close out the 23-16 win.

In the second round, the Mavericks got off to a hot start against West Liberty State.  Junior All-American Andy Forstner (Madelia, Minn.) picked up a technical fall win at 125 pounds.  Freshman Robby Fisher (Bloomington, Minn.) earned a major decision win at 141 to give the Mavericks a lead they would not relinquish.  Wilson again would close out the dual in fine style, earning a fall in 2:59 and icing a 27-11 win.
