Minnesota State (12-16-2 overall, 6-15-1 WCHA) is scheduled for a pair of Western Collegiate Hockey Association home contests this weekend at the University of Alaska Anchorage Seawolves (10-16-2 overall, 8-14-2 WCHA) on the docket. The Mavericks and the Seawolves square-off in downtown Mankato at Verizon Wireless Center (4,832) Friday at 7:37 p.m. and Saturday at 7:07 p.m.
About the MSU-UAA Series: Including a split of a league series in Anchorage back in November in which the Mavericks won 8-2 and lost 4-1, MSU owns a 31-20-6 all-time record vs. UAA. Head coach Troy Jutting is 24-9-5 in games with the Seawolves and senior forward Geoff Irwin is MSU’s current active leading scorer vs. UAA with 1-9--10 in 14 games. Senior forward Jerad Stewart enjoyed a “career-game” in MSU’s 8-2 win Nov. 20 with four goals and an assist for a five-point night.
Mavericks Most Recently: Minnesota State stands 12-16-2 overall, 6-15-1 WCHA on the year after dropping both games of a WCHA road series at third-rated Wisconsin Feb. 12-13 in its most recent action. MSU lost by the scores of 4-3 and 8-4 vs. the Badgers in Madison.

Kevin Murdock (1-3-1, 3.46, .895) and
Phil Cook (4-3-1, .918, 2.45) for a team goals against average of 2.84 and a .907 save percentage on the year.
The Mavericks, who have 706 wins in the 41-year history of the program, have six games left in the regular-season schedule and all are of the WCHA variety. And including this weekend’s games with UAA, five of the games are at home and one is on the road.
About Alaska Anchorage: The Seawolves, who stand just ahead of the Mavericks in the WCHA standings in a tie with Minnesota for seventh place, are 10-16-2 overall and are 8-14-2 WCHA. UAA, which did not play last weekend, earned a 4-4 tie and lost 6-0 to St. Cloud State in a pair of home games Feb. 5-6 in its last outings.

Tommy Grant (7-14--21) and Sean Wiles (9-8--17). Senior Jon Olthuis (7-10-2, .875, 3.50) has appeared in 20 games for UAA this year.
Dave Shyiak (Northern Michigan ‘93) is in his fifth year at the UAA men’s hockey helm and has forged a 50-102-21 record as a collegiate head coach.
Student Tickets Pre-Distribution: MSU student ticket distribution for the Maverick men’s hockey home games with Alaska Anchorage is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 17.
Distribution of the 1100 MSU student tickets (valid current Mavcard required) will take place in the Taylor Center Hall of Champions beginning at noon.
