St. Louis, Mo. — The 13th-rated Minnesota State women’s bowling team posted a 2-2 record Sunday at the Shrewsbury Invitational, a three-day long event which which took place in the Shrewsbury Lanes in St. Louis.
MSU, which knocked down 12,062 pins at the tournament, posted a 7-7 record in ranking eighth overall. The University of Nebraska, which had total pinfall of 11,083 and a won-loss mark of 11-3, claimed top honors.
The Mavericks opened today’s action with an 873-872 loss to Elmurst College and a 913-816 defeat at the hands of Central Missouri.
MSU responded with a 927-919 victory over sixth-rated Arkansas State before completing competition with an 870-820 win over #8 University of Nebraska.
A pair of seniors led the Mavericks at the eight-team affair with Ashley Clinchoc averaging 190.0 to rank fifth in the individual standings and Lisa Hoover ranking tenth with a 183.8 mark.
Now 33-26 for 2009-10, the Mavericks are scheduled to compete at the 2010 Warhawk Classic in Whitewater, Wis., Feb. 12-14, in their next action.
