Sprints Highlight Day Two of National Championships

AKRON, OHIO –
The Minnesota State women’s swimming and diving team continued action Thursday at the 2010 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships.

The Mavericks swam in their first relay of the meet and finished 18th in the 400-yard medley relay.  The squad, which was made up of freshman Tom Gasnick, junior Chris Gogel and sophomores Matt Chida and Dan Wright touched in 3:32.88.

Individually, Gasnick finished 34th in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:42.98, while Gogel was 44th 1:44.09.  Chida turned in a 32nd-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of :51.68.

The Mavericks continue action in the four-day event Friday.
