MINNESOTA STATE MAVERICKS

St. Paul, Minn. ---  Minnesota State senior catcher Kelsey Thompson has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Week for her efforts in the 2010 Rebel Spring games.

Thompson hit .800 for the Mavericks last week as Minnesota State earned victories over Stonehill (15-0), Georgian Court (6-1), Stonehill (7-0) and Northwoods (2-0).

The Frost, Minn., native connected on eight hits in 10 trips to the plate, hitting two doubles and driving in four runs.  She also finished the week with a .800 slugging percentage and posted a .818 on base percentage.
 
Minnesota State (7-3) is idle Tuesday. The Mavericks resumes play in the Rebel Spring Games Wednesday with games against C.W. Post  and California (Pa.).
