Reynolds Transfers To Minnesota State

4/16/2010 3:00:00 PM

Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State women's basketball coach Pam Gohl has announced that Kathleen Reynolds has announced her intentions to transfer to Minnesota State, joining the Maverick basketball team in the fall of 2010.

A 5-7 guard from Sioux City Iowa, Reynolds spent the 2009-10 season at Northern State Unversity, playing in 16 games for the Wolves.

Prior to joining Northern State, Reynolds graduated from Sioux City East High School where she averaged 16 points per game, shooting 46 percent from the field and 83 percent from the free throw line.  Reynolds was named First Team All-Missouri River Concerence, Omaha World Herald All-Western Iowa second team and Sioux City Journal All-Northwest Iowa third team as a senior. The daughter of Craig and Rorie Reynolds, Kathleen intends to major in psychology.

"Kathleen is a quick point guard.  She can get to the basket and also hit the three point shot with great consistency.  I used to watch her and her sisters play for Sioux City East when I was the coach at Briar Cliff," said Gohl.  "She will have to sit out this 2010-2011 season because she is transferring from another NSIC school.  She will elevate the level of our practice every day next year and we look forward to her being cleared to play in 2011-2012."

The Mavericks finished the 2009-10 season with a 15-13 record.
