Mankato, Minn. — Led by the All-America performance by senior Ashley Clinchoc, the Minnesota State women’s bowling program ranked 14th in the final poll issued by the National Tenpins Coaches Association.
Clinchoc, a native of Chesterfield, Mo., and a veteran MSU teams that qualified for NCAA national tournament in 2007 and in 2008, turned in a 191 average for her senior season with the Mavericks. She led MSU with 84 matches played and a pinfal total of 7,643 this year. Clinchoc was named a Third Team All-American by the NTCA.
Under the guidance of first-year head coach Shane Drahota, the Mavericks finished 2009-10 with a 48-42 overall record. The season marked the fifth year of women's bowling at Minnesota State.
