MINNESOTA STATE MAVERICKS

Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men’s tennis team – making a rare on-campus appearance – downed Saint Mary’s (Minn.), 7-2, Thursday evening on the tennis courts of Minnesota State University.

The Mavericks opened the match by winning two of the three doubles points.  Sophomore Marco Vazquez and senior Chris Webber earned an 8-6 win at the #1 flight while freshmen Cole Jensen and Mitch Barr won 8-0 at the #2 flight.

In singles action, Barr opened play with a 6-0,6 -1 win at the #3 flight, while senior Adam Doll earned a 6-2, 6-3 win at the #4 flight.  Jensen picked up a 6-2, 6-0 victory at #5 singles, while Vazquez won 6-4, 6-2 at the top-singles position.  Senior Chad Berger closed action with a 7-5, 6-1 win at the #6 spot.
