St. Paul, Minn. --- A trio of Mavericks earned awards from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference as the league handed out postseason awards Saturday.
Junior #1 singles player Sarah Madigan (Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) was a Second-Team All-Conference pick as she played to a 7-13 record this season and was 4-6 in league play. All of her 20 matches this season came at the #1 flight. Junior #5 and #6 singles player Heather Jensen (Mankato, Minn.) was an Honorable Mention All-Conference pick as she played to a 16-4 record this season and was 10-0 in league play.
Madigan and freshman doubles partner Kathryn Gavin (Austin, Minn.) were Second-Team All-Conference picks. The duo played to an 11-11 record this season and was 6-4 in league play.
Minnesota State (12-11) plays Augustana (19-0) in the semifinals of the NSIC championships Sunday morning at 8 a.m., at the Baseline Tennis Center in Minneapolis, Minn.
