2010-11 Schedule Unveiled for Maverick Men's Hockey
Minnesota State will host 18 regular-season games in 2010-11

Mankato, Minn. --- The Minnesota State men’s hockey team is slated to play 18 home regular season games in 2010-11 as the University formally announced its schedule today.
Three teams that made NCAA postseason tournament appearances last year - Denver, North Dakota and Bemidji State - will travel to Mankato for the 2010-11 season.
Not including an exhibition game with the University of British Columbia slated for Oct. 4,
the schedule features eight home contests prior to the end of December and ten home games in the second-half of the schedule.
MSU begins regular-season action with a nonconference home series with St. Lawrence (Oct. 8-9). Following a pair of league games at Michigan Tech Oct. 15-16,
Colorado College visits Verizon Wireless Center Oct. 22-23. The Mavericks travel to Alaska Anchorage Oct. 29-20, then is at Nebraska-Omaha Nov. 5-6, at Denver Nov. 12-13
and at Mass-Lowell Nov. 26-27 before hosting Minnesota Dec. 3-4.
MSU takes on the University of North Dakota in Mankato Dec. 10-11 in the last action prior to Christmas.
The Mavericks’ post-holiday schedule includes the Shillelagh Tournament in suburban Chicago with
tourney teams including Boston University, Brown and Notre Dame Jan. 1 and 2. MSU’s opponents for the two games have not yet been announced.
The home schedule starts with a nonconference series vs. American International Jan. 7-8. The University of Denver visits Mankato Jan. 14-15.
Four Western Collegiate Hockey Association road games ensue with the Mavericks at Wisconsin Jan. 21-22 and St. Cloud State Jan. 28-29.
Bemidji State makes the trek south Feb. 4-5 before the Mavericks play at Colorado College Feb. 11-12.
MSU closes out the regular season with back-to-back league series with Minnesota Duluth (Feb. 18-19) and Alaska-Anchorage (Mar. 4-5).
Single-game tickets for MSU men’s hockey home games will be available at the beginning of October. Season tickets are now on sale.

MSU was 16-20-3 overall in 2009-10 and finished in eighth place in the WCHA standings with a 9-17-2 league record.
The Mavericks went 10-8-1 in 19 home games last year. MSU, which averaged 3,880 fans per home game in 2009-10, is 144-94-37 (.591) all-time at Verizon Wireless Center.
