Indianpolis, Ind. --- The Minnesota State women's track and field team had six individuals advance to the NCAA Championships held May 27-29 at the Irwin Belk Track Complex in Charlotte, N.C.
Pacing the way for the Mavericks is 11-time All-American
Brittany Henderson, who qualified in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay. Henderson, a senior, enters the 100-meter dash as the fourth-best time of :11.61 and is 10th in the 200-meter dash with a time of :23.98.
Senior
Kelsey Leonard is seeded ninth in the 400-meter dash with a time of :54.98.
Henderson and Leonard will team with junior
Linnelle Clark and freshman
Becca Schmidt in the 4x100-meter relay. The quartet enters the race with the 10th-best seed time of :46.65.
Junior
Lauren Stelten is the top-seed in the pole vault with a seed mark of 4.10-meters. Senior
Whitney Kroschel is seeded 18th in the vault wth a mark of 3.71-meters. Both Stelten and Kroschedl will chase former teammate Katelin Rains' national championship meet record of 4.11 meters.
Last season, Minnesota State turned in a ninth-place finish, the best in school history, with 24 points.
