Mankato, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics hosted the 24th Maverick Achievement Awards and Senior Honors Dinner Sunday, and 63 student-athletes were honored. The event took place in the Centennial Student Union Ballroom. The 63 Maverick Achievement Award winners passes the previous mark of 54 set by the 2008-09 class for the most honored at the Maverick Achievement Awards.
Over the past 24 years, the Maverick Achievement Awards program has sought to recognize true student-athletes at Minnesota State. Requirements for the award stipulate that recipients be seniors, letterwinners and have a grade point average of 3.00 or better entering their senior year of competition. Since 1986-87, 781 student-athletes have been honored.
