LAKE CITY, MINN. --- The Minnesota State women’s golf team sits in second-place after the opening day of the 2010 NCAA Central Regional Golf Tournament. The Mavericks – who shot a 323 for the day – were paced by four score cards of 81 strokes or better.
Senior Kassie Ellsworth paced the Mavericks with a nine-over par 80 and is in a three-way tie for sixth, while sophomore Samantha Bergmann, junior Kathleen Ritter and senior Jaymie Halvorson all fired 10-over par 81’s and are tied for 13th overall. Sophomore Lisa Moline shot an 89, which is good for a tie for 42nd place.
Augustana leads the nine-field team with a +33, 321. Winona State is in third at +44 at 328. Augustana’s Emily Kvidera shot a two-over par 73 to lead all golfers.
The three-day long tournament continues Monday.
