Kelsey Thompson has been named to the
Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association First-Team All-Central Region.
Thompson, a Frost, Minn., native, led Minnesota State in batting average (.431), hits (59), doubles (10), home runs (11), RBI (45), slugging percentage (.745) and on base percentage (.516). Earlier this month, Thompson was named
First-Team All-Conference by the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and was also named the league's Player of the Year. Yesterday, Thompson was named the D
aktronics, Inc Central Region Player of the Year and was a
First-Team All-Region choice by Daktronics.
Thompson is now eligible for the national ballot where she could become MSU's 14th All-American in program history.
Minnesota State finished the 2010 season with a 36-15 record and advanced to the NCAA tournament for the eighth time in school history and the fourth straight season.
