Charlotte, N.C. --- The Minnesota State men’s and women’s track and field teams were set to participate in the second day of the 2010 NCAA Division II National Championships, however Mother Nature had a different idea. Inclement weather forced much of Friday’s events to be postponed till Saturday.
The only Maverick to run Friday was senior Brittany Henderson finished third in her heat of the 200-meter dash with a time of :24.12, which qualified her to Saturday’s finals with the seventh-fastest time. Indira Spence of Adams State enters the finals with the fastest time of :23.58.
Junior Lauren Stelten and senior Whitney Kroschel were to participate in the women’s pole vault and senior men’s distance runner Denise Mokaya was to run the 800-meter run Friday, however, there events will commence Saturday, with the 800-meter run being a timed final.
Sophomore pole vaulter Dan Novak will also participate Saturday. Henderson will run in the finals of the 100 and 200-meter dashes tomorrow, while senior Kelsey Leonard will run in the 400-meter dash. The 4x100-meter relay team, of Henderson, Leonard, junior Linnelle Clark and freshman Becca Schmidt will also run their final on Saturday.

Women’s vault (Stelten, Kroschel), – 11 a.m.
4x100 (Henderson, Leonard, Clark & Schmidt) – 5:40 p.m.
Men’s vault (Novak) – 5:45 p.m.
Women’s 400 (Leonard) – 6:55 p.m.
Women’s 100 (Henderson) – 7:18 p.m.
Men’s 800 (Makoya) – 7:57 p.m. (timed final)
Women’s 200 (Henderson) – 8:30 p.m.
