Eden Prairie, Minn. --- Former Minnesota State University offensive lineman Adrian Battles has signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Minnesota Vikings, according to the team’s website.  In doing so, Battles becomes the second former Maverick to sign an undrafted free agent deal, joining former teammate Junior Aumavae.  Last month, Aumavae inked a deal with the Dallas Cowboys.

Last weekend, Battles participated in a three-day long rookie camp with the Vikings.

During his time as a Maverick, Battles was a staple on the offensive line.  While wearing the purple-and-gold of Minnesota State, Battles started in 43 of a possible 46 games for Minnesota State and helped guide the squad to a 27-19 record during that span.

This past season, Battles helped anchor a Maverick offensive line which opened holes for an offensive backfield that rushed for 2,842 yards and 34 touchdowns.  The 2,842 yards of rushing offense is the fourth highest single-season total in school history, while the 34 rushing touchdowns is the second-best total in program history.

Minnesota State finished the 2010 season with a 10-2 record.
