LAKE CITY, MINN. --- The Minnesota State women’s golf team completed action at the 2010 NCAA Central Regional Golf Tournament today, closing with a final round of 327 for a final total of 984, which was good enough for third place in the team standings.
The three-day, nine-team tournament was contested at The Jewel in Lake City, Minn.
The Mavericks, who combined to shoot 984 over the course of the three rounds – ranked behind Augustana, which claimed the regional title with a has a 972 total, and Western New Mexico, which owned 979 total. The Mavericks rounded out the top three with their 984, Upper Iowa was fourth at 989 and Concordia-St. Paul was fifth with total of 991.
Senior
Kassie Ellsworth shot rounds of 80-78-78 in leading the Mavericks with her 54-hold total of 236 placing her second in the individual standings. Junior
Kathleen Ritter tied for 18th with a 247, senior
Jaymie Halvorson carded a 252 in tying for 27th, sophomore
Samantha Bergmann's 256 tied for 32nd and sophomore
Lisa Moline was 43rd at 259.
Upper Iowa's
Jill Preeschel led the individual standings with a +17, three-round total of 233.

The Mavericks, along with Augustana and Western New Mexico, will compete at the NCAA Division II Championship tournament which is scheduled for May 12-15 in Mesa, Ariz.
