Mankato, Minn. --- Minnesota State head women’s basketball coach
Pam Gohl has announced that Kayla Mathiowetz (Cedar Mountain, Minn.) has signed with the program.
All signings are contingent upon admission to MSU and compliance with NCAA rules, including certification by the NCAA Clearinghouse.
Mathiowetz averaged 13 points and eight rebounds as a senior and was an All-Tomahawk Conference pick. Mathiowetz participated in two Minnesota State High School League Class A State Tournaments, as Cedar Mountain made an appearance in 2008 and finished second in 2009. This past year, she graduated as the valedictorian of her class.
"We are very excited to have Kayla join the Maverick basketball program," said Gohl. "Her size will help fill a void in our frontcourt that we lost last year due to graduation."
Mathiowetz joins five additional recruits and a transfer who have all committed to Minnesota State and will begin activities with the team in the fall.
