Six Mavericks Honored For Success on Track & In Classroom

New Orleans, La. ---  Six Minnesota State women's track & field and cross country athletes have been honored as USTFCCCA All-Academic selections.

Seniors Brittany Henderson (Milwaukee, Wis.),Whitney Kroschel (Afton, Minn.) and Kelsey Leonard (Hermantown, Minn.) joined junior Lauren Stelten (Cologne, Minn.) and freshmen Ali Paul (Cedar Grove, Wis.) and Becca Schmidt (White Fish Bay, Wis.) as honorees from Minnesota State.

In all, 33 student athletes from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference were honored and the six athletes from MSU stands as the second highest tally in the league, behind the University of Mary's seven.

The Maverick outdoor track and field squad finished seventh at the national championships, while the indoor track and field team placed 18th.
