Mavericks Move to #6 in Latest AFCA Poll

10/29/2012 9:40:00 AM

Waco, Texas --- The Minnesota State football team moved up one spot in this week’s American Football Coaches Association poll moving from seventh to sixth.  The move comes after the Mavericks earned a 42-35 victory at Wayne State last weekend.

The Mavericks are one of three teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in the top-25, joining ninth-ranked Minnesota Duluth and 17th-ranked Sioux Falls.   The rating also marks the 27th time that MSU has appeared in the top-ten of the poll and the fourth straight week in which it has done so.

The Mavericks (9-0, 9-0 NSIC) play the aforementioned Cougars of Sioux Falls Saturday at 1 p.m., inside historic Blakeslee Stadium.
