Waco, Texas. --- The Minnesota State football team debuted in the 2012 American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division Top-25 poll Monday morning ranked #22 in the nation.
The Mavericks are one of two teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference in the poll joining Minnesota Duluth, who is ranked #2. Other teams from the NSIC receiving votes to be ranked include: Sioux Falls (31) and Wayne State (14).
The ranking marks the first time since Sept. 27, 2010 that Minnesota State has been ranked in the AFCA poll and the 50th time it has been ranked in the poll in program history.
Minnesota State (3-0, 3-0 NSIC) returns to action Saturday as it hosts MSU Moorhead at 1 p.m., in Blakeslee Stadium.
