Nathan Hancock sits in first place while freshman
Benjamin Ojika is in second after day one of the NSIC Multi Championships. Hancock totaled 2,941 points compared to Ojika's 2,659 points.

Hancock was the top finisher in each event Saturday. In the 60-meter dash he finished with a time of 7.15 and in the high jump he leaped 6' 6.75". In the long jump he had a leap of 21' 08" while in the shot put he beat the competition by nearly two feet with a throw of 38' 4.75"

Ojika had a career-best leap in the high jump clearing 6' 5.5" and finishing in second place. He also finished second in the long jump leaping 20' 9" and finished in 12th place with a personal best throw in the shot put with a distance of 31' 3.25". He also had a personal-best time in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.33 finishing in third place.

Tomorrow's portion of the pentathlon will begin at 10 a.m. and will feature the 60-meter hurdles, pole vault, and the 1,000-meter run.
