Nathan Hancock was crowned the champion in the heptathlon at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Multi Championships totaling 5,030 points. This marks the second time he has won the championship as he did so last year with 5,321 points.

After having three first-place finishes and a second place finish on Sunday, Hancock placed second in the pole vault (13'3.5"), fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.81) and seventh in the 1000-meter run (2:59.40) on Monday for a total of 5030 points. Hancock met the NCAA Division II automatic qualifying mark earlier this season at the MSU Multi totaling 5,371 points, a career-best total for the junior.

Freshman
Benjamin Ojika finished in fourth place with a career-best point total of 4,590 points. Ojika finished first in the 60-meter hurdles (8.55), tenth in the pole vault (11' 3.75") and 11th in the 1,000-meter run (3:05.26).

For the win Hancock earned ten points and Ojika's fourth-place finish added five points to bring the team total to 15 points.
