Bemidji, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's track and field team is currently in sixth place at the NSIC Championships. The Mavericks totaled 18 points highlighted by
Brieanna Puckett's second-place finish in the long jump.
Puckett earned eight points with a leap of 18' 7" for the Purple and Gold. Junior
Morgan Stampley placed fourth in the weight throw earning five team points with a throw of 58' 5.25".
Junior
Zevin Carter qualified for the finals of the 60-meter hurdles finishing in sixth place with a time of 8.93. Carter also qualified in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.78. Puckett qualified for the final in the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash with times of 7.80 and 25.82 respectively. Sophomore
Holly Suss also qualified in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.97.
Freshman
Taylor Naatz was the only Maverick to qualify in the 400-meter dash doing so with a time of 58.78. In the 600-meter run freshman
Taylor Glover and junior
Jenni Vanttinen qualified for the finals with times of 1:37.38 and 1:38.05 respectively.
Freshman
Maddi Sjellin had the top qualifying time in the 800-meter run finishing with a time of 2:18.58 and the only Maverick to make it into the finals.

Day two of the NSIC Championships will start at 10 a.m. tomorrow with the men's weight throw, women's pole vault, and men's triple jump. The finals of all the track events will begin at 1 p.m.
