BROOKINGS, S.D. --- Following a day where two school-records fell, sophomore Myles Hunter (Conyers, Ga.) not only broke his own school-record, but took down a NCAA Division II record in the process.
In the preliminary round of the 60-meter hurdles, Hunter ran 7.87. In the finals however, he took his season one-step further. His final time of 7.64 not only lowers his own school-record, but also passes Decosmo Wright to make him the new Division II record-holder. Today's time is also the sixth-fastest time for any American this year.
Senior Emmanuel Matadi (St. Paul, Minn.) also had an impressive day finishing first in the 60-meter dash. Matadi, who broke the school-record in the 200-meters last night, posted a final time of 6.71. Kyran Stewart (Camilla, Ga.)also found himself in the finals finishing sixth with a time of 6.88.
Ryan Ness (St. Paul, Minn.)rounded out his weekend with a 12th-place finish in the mile event at 4:22.82. Senior Austin O'Brien finished the day two edition of the 3000-meters in eighth following a final time of 8:35.45.
The field events saw yet another Mavericks hit a provisional qualifying mark as Frank Veldman (Eagan, Minn.) did so in the high jump. His leap of 6'10.25" also gave him the first-place crown. Khalil Jor'dan (Eagan, Minn.) followed up with a third-place in the triple jump with a final lunge of 46'6".

Next up for the Mavericks is the NSIC Multi Championships, which will be hosted by Minnesota State this Sunday and Monday, in Myers Field House.
