Birmingham, Ala. --- In the final day of the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships, the Minnesota State men's track and field team saw two seniors place and be named All-Americans.
Nathan Hancock secured his fourth all-american award with his seventh-place finish in the heptathlon. Hancock posted a time of 8.38 in the 60-meter hurdles establishing a new personal-record in his final attempt of his indoor career. He followed that with a final height of 12'9.5" in the pole vault. He grabbed his seventh-place finish with a time of 2:43.87 in the 1000-meters.
Fellow senior
Emmanuel Matadi followed Hancock's performance with a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter dash. Matadi's time of 6.73 was 0.01 behind the winning positing. This is Matadi's first all-american honor as a Division II student-athlete. Â
Overall, the Mavericks finished with seven points which put them 32nd.
This ends the indoor season for the men as they will switch gears to outdoor as that season is set to commence March 28th, in Emporia, Kan.
