Sudman to Compete at National Championships

Mankato, Minn. --- The participants are set an the Minnesota State women's track and field team will be sending Bryanna Sudman to compete.

The NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships are being held this year in Allendale, Mich. May 21-23.

The Mavericks sent student-athletes to the outdoor championships each of the last two years but did not score any points.  The best finish was in 2010 when MSU finished seventh with 26 points.

About Head Coach Jen Blue: Coach Blue is in her 15th season at the helm of the women's track and field program and guided them to a fifth-place finish in the conference this season.  Under Blue's leadership, the Mavericks have finished second in the conference twice.  She was the NCC Outdoor Coach of the Year in 2003.  The North Dakota State alum has had two outdoor National Champions under her reign with Katelin Rains taking the pole vault in 2009 and Lauren Stelten also capturing the pole vault championship in 2011.

Bryanna Sudman: The senior will be making her second trip to the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships as she finished 20th last season in the pole vault.  The Eden Prairie, Minn. native currently sits tied for ninth in the nation with a high mark of 12'7.5".  She is a two-time USTFCCCA All-Central Region winner in 2014 and 2015.  She also competed at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships this season finishing ninth.

The campus of Grand Valley State University will begin the championships May 21st and run through the 23rd in Allendale, Mich.
