Mavericks Post 13th-Place Finish at 2015 Griak Invitational

Sophomore Erin Baker placed 36th as Minnesota State's top individual at Saturday's Roy Griak Invitational

     Minneapolis, Minn. --- The Minnesota State women's cross country team turned in a 13th-place finish at the 2015 Roy Griak Invitational held in Minneapolis today.

Minnesota Duluth won the 37-team, 6K-competition with a score of 83 points and was followed by Northern Michigan (93), Run N Fun (118), UW-Parkside (153) and U-Mary (166) to round out the top five. Minnesota State finished with 371 points in ranking 13th.

Sophomore Erin Baker finished with a 24:19.0 clocking as the top Maverick in placing 36th. 

Freshman 
Lily Paul (24:26.8) placed 41st, freshman Josie Braaten (25:14.8) placed 85th, freshman Megan Serratore (25:20.4) was 90th, senior Samantha Soupir (25:54.6) was 119th, sophomore Megan Allen (25:56.0) posted a 125th-place finish and freshman Jessica Boespflug (26:03.3) finished 133rd.

Next action for Minnesota State is the Bob Waxlax Invitational in St. Cloud, Minn., slated for Oct. 9th.
