Sioux Falls, S.D. --- The Minnesota State men's cross country team posted a fifth-place finish at the 2016 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship held in Sioux Falls, Saturday.
There were 12 teams competing at the event held at the 8K Yankton Trails course and the Mavericks, who had five individuals finish in the top 30, finished with 119 points. Augustana claime the team title with 28 points.
Minnesota State junior
Austin Pasch (25:16.44), who placed 19th, and sophomore
Caleb Burke (25:17.49), who was 20th, both earned All-NSIC Second Team honors. Senior
Brendan Gessner (26:29.90) placed 24th, while sophomores
Austin Yardley (25:30.33) and
Derek Cruz (25:36.41) were 26th and 30th, respectively. Other Mavericks competing today included sophomore
Steven Erredge (26:08.30, 43rd), freshman
Isaiah Rabata (26.49.54, 56th), junior
Michael Hoff (28.26.76) and junior
Derek Finsterwalder (29:33.12, 98th).
