Sioux Falls, S.D. --- The Minnesota State men's cross country team closed out its 2016 season with a 13th-place finish at the NCAA Division II Central Region meet held in Sioux Falls, Saturday.
There were 25 teams competing at the event held at the 10K Yankton Trails course and the Mavericks finished with 344 points. Augustana claimed the team title with 65 points.

Austin Pasch clocked in at 32:22.59 as the top Maverick individual with his 35th-place finish. Freshman
Austin Yardley (32:.45.81) placed 56th, while sophomore
Caleb Burke (32:51.56) came in at 63rd. Senior
Brendan Gessner (32:58.53) placed 66th, sophomore
Derek Cruz (34:18.60) was 125th, freshman
Isaiah Rabata (34:32.90) finished 130th and sophomore
Steven Erredge (34:48.47) placed 136th.

The top four teams from today (Augustana, Missouri Southern, Northwest Missouri State and MSU-Moorhead) qualified for the NCAA DII Championships scheduled for Nov. 19 in St. Leo, Fla.
